will new portal for pensioner make there life easy?

Today Finance Minister Arun Jaitley released a new portal for pensioners and family of pensioners. This portal can be used to check the status of pension. This is very useful portal for senior citizens. Previously seniors citizens had to go to pension office to know there pension. It is very difficult. But Modi government has launched this portal to make lives of pensionrs easy.

Portal url is www.cpao.nic.in

The web portal launched by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today will enable central civil pensioners, family pensioners and freedom fighter pensioners to view their complete pension profile digitally by logging into www.cpao.nic.in.
Mr. Jaitly said: “Nobody should be harassed, least of all pensioners because they are mostly senior citizens. And they need that resource and their life depends on that resource. So any delay or red tapism can actually cause a lot of harassment if not destitution,”.

The Central (Civil) pensions are authorised through Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO) functioning under the Controller General of Accounts.

The coverage of the Scheme extends to all pensioners of the Central Government employed in Civil Ministries/Departments (other than Railways, Posts, and Defence), National Capital Territory of Delhi, Union Territory Administrations without legislatures, retired Judges of the High Courts and the Supreme Court and All India Service Officers. This Scheme also covers payment of pension to former Members of Parliament and the payment of pension and other amenities to the former Presidents/Vice Presidents of India. The working of CPAO is fully computerised.
CPAO was created with the primary objective of simplifying procedure and reducing the number of agencies for pension payment and to expedite the process of authorisation, revision and transfer of pension through Authorised Banks.
The working of CPAO is fully computerised and it maintains a data bank of Central (Civil) pensioners. Over 1226486 pensioners are provided pension related services by the CPAO through more than 70407 paying bank branches all over the country.
